Ketchum, ID Comprehensive Plan Update

Clarion Associates, with support from Economic and Planning Systems, worked with the City of Ketchum to create the Cohesive Ketchum Comprehensive Plan, an update to the community’s 2014 planning document. The updated Comprehensive Plan was the product of a two-year effort involving hundreds of Ketchum residents, business owners, and visitors. While the plan touches on a variety of topics, including historic preservation, transportation, and community health and safety, a key focus of the project was finding ways to discuss and balance the trade-offs associated with supporting economic development, providing affordable housing options, and preserving community character. The final policy document includes six chapters which present the community’s vision, challenges confronting that vision, and specific goals, policies, and implementation actions for realizing that vision. The Cohesive Ketchum Comprehensive Plan also includes an updated growth framework, which clearly identifies the factors influencing growth in Ketchum, and a future land use plan to inform changes to land use and development regulations in the community.
