Leigh Anne King is the Director of Clarion’s Chapel Hill office and leads the firm's planning practice. She has worked with local governments for 20+ years to develop more than 50 sustainable community plans, comprehensive plans, affordable housing studies, growth management strategies, and open space planning initiatives. She was the lead author or core contributor of twelve award-winning plans, including the APA Daniel Burnham Award-winning Charlotte Future 2040. Leigh Anne speaks regularly at national and state conferences on the topics of comprehensive and strategic planning, affordable workforce housing, and other planning topics. Before joining Clarion, Leigh Anne worked for a national land conservation nonprofit.
How has your understanding of critical planning issues affected one of your lifestyle choices?: More walking and biking! To my son’s school, to the grocery, to restaurants, to the doctor, to a park, and to see friends!
Favorite city to visit: Barcelona
Weekend activity: Hiking, biking, and boating with family -- and reading a good novel!
