Senior Associate
Ellie is a Senior Associate in Clarion's Denver office. She believes that the built environment strongly impacts our daily lives, and it should be designed to consider everyone's unique experiences to provide the best possible place for all to thrive. Her time in the public sector spanned multiple jurisdictions and led her to a deeper understanding of how development impacts communities through development review and implementation of zoning regulations. Through her experience in public sector and education in Environmental Design, Ellie provides a holistic view of zoning regulations and the power they have to shape the places we live and work in.
How has your understanding of critical planning issues affected one of your lifestyle choices: I have chosen to live in a community that embraces urbanist and sustainable design principles such as a range of denser housing types along with xeric design and pollinator gardens in our communal landscaping.
Favorite City (to visit/explore/live?): Monterey, California! I love how the city and surrounding area preserves so many unique natural habitats and has reused old industrial buildings like in Cannery Row! Also, I just really love the wild sea otters (and the ones at the aquarium there).
How to know you're a planning nerd: When you play city planning video games for fun and look up local development projects after finding the public notice signs during your travels.
Weekend Activity: Spending time outside, especially if I can go camping or fly fishing.
