During the last 20 years, community planners have learned that studying how humans interact with the built environment is a vital component of urban design. That realization has changed how designers and developers approach building projects, and has helped to transform deteriorating areas into vibrant entertainment, shopping, and residential districts.
Clarion Associates has applied its knowledge of the human/urban interface to its expertise in urban design and landscape architecture. We've worked with cities and developers throughout the country to design, build, and redevelop areas into exciting urban spaces. Our work helps to spur economic development, revitalize city centers, and to spark community pride.
Whether it's a rezoning program for a neighborhood, a plan for a highway corridor, or a redevelopment project in an old city, Clarion Associates has the experience and creativity to produce innovative designs and land-use solutions.
Here's an example.

I-25 Corridor Plan, Northern Colorado |
This fast-growing region is dissected by Interstate 25, a major thoroughfare that is attracting a mish-mash of highway-related development - warehouses, manufacturing facilities, car and truck lots, regional service facilities, etc. Regional officials were worried that the unmanaged growth would become unsightly and cause future development problems. Clarion Associates conducted an analysis of existing uses, regulations, traffic patterns, and zoning, then developed a plan to guide future growth along a 20-mile section of the highway. The plan includes provisions for open space, design guidelines, zoning recommendations, and plan implementation.
