Expert Testimony
Clarion principals have served as expert witnesses on a variety of assignments: documenting and analyzing legal precedent, summarizing national best practices on controversial land use issues, and providing court testimony as qualified experts in land use planning and related topics in federal and state courts. We are often called upon to prepare expert reports as well as provide supporting testimony in deposition and trial.
Recent assignments have addressed topics such as:
- County land use planning and special use review processes for matters related to land use litigation
- Development patterns of the Coeur d’Alene River Basin for matters related to historic mining activities (Federal District Court, Idaho)
- City Comprehensive Land Use Plan characteristics, zoning and other land use regulations for parcels of land to be acquired through condemnation proceedings
- Colorado land use policies and regulations and county oil and gas regulations
